Negombo Day Tour

Tour Starting Point: Any Hotels in Colombo or Negombo / Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB)
Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.
Start boat tour in Negombo lagoon. Here you can engage with traditional and modern ways of fishing in lagoon.
The Negombo Fish Market is a fresh fish market, literally, on the beach shore. The endless rows of dried fish against the Negombo sky makes a startling sight.
Negombo Dutch Fort, as the name suggests, is located in Negombo. Initially a Portuguese creation, it was rebuilt by the Dutch after they seized it. Although the fort now lies in ruins, it has played quite a role in the colonial history of the country.
Angurukaramulla Temple which has a history of 300 years. The highlights of this temple are the historic library; the dragon entrance and the colourful murals which make this place worth visiting.
